Our Mission
Sepsis Stronger Together is a consortium of European patient organisations, driven by the ambition to reduce the huge burden of sepsis. The consortium developed spontaneously during the organisation of Revealing the Burden of Sepsis, the first ever fully patient-driven symposium on sepsis on 9 September 2024 in Paris. During that symposium we launched a ‘Call to Action’ to EU policy makers to develop a European Sepsis Plan. The medical journal The Lancet published an article on this Call to Action in October 2024.

At Sepsis Stronger Together, our mission is to raise awareness, promote early diagnosis, and advocate for comprehensive support systems for sepsis survivors. We are committed to uniting patients, families, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to combat the devastating impact of sepsis.
Our Objectives:
- Increase Awareness: Educate the public and healthcare providers about the signs and risks of sepsis to ensure timely recognition and treatment.
- Advocate for Early Diagnosis: Promote the implementation of standardized protocols for the early detection and management of sepsis.
- Support Survivors: Establish robust support networks to assist individuals recovering from sepsis, addressing both physical and psychological challenges.
- Drive Policy Change: Collaborate with European health authorities to develop and enforce policies that prioritize sepsis prevention, treatment, and survivor care
