1. Sepsis only affects the elderly or immunocompromised
2. Sepsis is just a severe infection
3. A bit of fever and fast breathing is nothing to worry about
4. Sepsis is rare – we don’t need to focus on it
5. Just give antibiotics and it’s sorted
