What to expect?
What is United Against Sepsis?
This event offers a dynamic program filled with engaging talks, personal testimonials, panel discussions and networking opportunities. Participants can expect an open dialogue between those directly affected by sepsis and those on the frontlines of care. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to inspiring stories from sepsis survivors and bereaved families as well as insights from healthcare professionals committed to improving outcomes and saving lives.
Why is raising awareness important?
Every year sepsis affects 3 million people in the European Union alone, and yet this terrible figure does not get to the headlines. Sepsis is the most severe complication of infection, and a leading cause of preventable deaths and disability in Europe. Every minute more than one person dies of sepsis in Europe and three-quarters of survivors suffer long-term sequelae. Sepsis can affect people at any age. Vaccination, clean care, early recognition and treatment of infection, are key to preventing sepsis.
